01About this policy

Gelatin Games is operated by Ian Cadle, an individual based in England and the controller of personal information handled for the studio. This policy describes the Gelatin Games website and the current offline version of Gelatin Sudoku. Website enquiries and game saves are handled differently, as explained below. App stores and services you choose to use have their own privacy information. Gelatin Blocks is in development; its data handling will be explained before release. Contact Ian Cadle through the Gelatin Games contact form with questions about your information.

02Gelatin Sudoku: saved on your device

Gelatin Sudoku saves your settings, puzzle progress, notes, undo history, Daily progress and play statistics on your device so you can continue playing. Statistics include completed puzzles, difficulty, completion dates and activity days. Recovery copies help protect your progress. An existing installation may also retain profile or recovery information from an earlier version. The current game does not require an online account, sync gameplay to our servers, or include advertising, remote analytics, crash-reporting services, in-app purchases or subscriptions. Local play statistics are not automatically sent to Gelatin Games.

03Game exports, sharing and device backups

You can choose to export progress to a file, including saved puzzles, Daily progress and play statistics. On supported devices, the game opens the device’s sharing controls so you can choose where to send that file. A receiving app or service handles any copy you share under its own privacy practices. Your device’s backup or transfer services may also copy app data, depending on the platform and your settings. Offline play therefore does not mean that a backup or a file you choose to share can never leave your device.

04Managing your game data

Game saves remain locally until they are replaced or removed. Use your browser’s site-data controls or your device’s app-data controls to remove local game data where those controls are available. Clearing data can permanently remove progress. Restarting one puzzle does not delete all saved statistics or recovery information. Manage exported files, shared copies and device backups separately through the apps or services that hold them. We cannot access or delete a save that exists only on your device.

05Information you choose to share

When you use the website contact form, you provide your name, email address, topic, subject and message. Please do not include passwords, payment details or other sensitive information. We use enquiry information to read and respond to your message, provide support and follow up where needed. You do not need to submit an enquiry or provide these details to play Gelatin Sudoku.

06How contact messages work

The contact form sends the details you enter to our server. After our form checks, we send your enquiry details to FormSubmit to request delivery to the studio’s Gmail inbox. FormSubmit states that it retains submissions for 30 days. Google also processes delivered messages as the email provider. We do not store your message in a website database. The form reports errors detected while submitting your message. A successful submission confirms that the delivery service accepted the request; it does not confirm receipt in the inbox.

07Technical information

Hostinger hosts this website, and Cloudflare provides network delivery and security. These services process request and connection information, such as IP addresses, requested pages and access times, to deliver and protect the site. The contact server limits repeated submissions within a ten-minute window using the sender email address, or a client IP address supplied by a configured trusted hosting proxy. These temporary counters stay in server memory; expired entries are removed when a later submission is checked. We have not added optional audience analytics, advertising trackers or social-media embeds to the website.

08Why we use personal information

We use enquiry information for our legitimate interests in answering questions, providing support and managing Gelatin Games. We use essential request information and temporary submission counters for our legitimate interests in delivering the website and preventing misuse. We use information needed to handle data-protection requests and complaints to meet our legal obligations. We do not use enquiry details for mailing lists or advertising.

09Browser preferences

We store your privacy choice locally in your browser. This helps us remember whether you have already made a choice. See the Cookie Policy for the preference name, duration and controls. You can reopen cookie settings from the footer at any time.

10Keeping your information

We delete enquiry emails once the enquiry has been actioned. Deleted messages can remain in Gmail’s Trash for up to 30 days unless permanently deleted sooner. FormSubmit’s separate 30-day submission archive is not removed by deleting our email copy. We do not use contact-form messages to sign you up to a mailing list. Contact us if you want to ask about or request removal of an earlier enquiry; any information that must be retained by law is handled separately.

11Questions and requests

Under UK data-protection law, you can request access to your personal information, correction, deletion or restriction, subject to the conditions and exceptions in that law. You can also object to our use of personal information based on legitimate interests. Contact Ian Cadle through the contact form and select Privacy request. We may need information to confirm your identity. We normally respond to a rights request within one month; if a lawful extension or clarification is needed, we will explain it.

12Privacy complaints

To complain about how we handle personal information, use the contact form and select Privacy request. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, investigate it and explain the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data-protection regulator.

13Updates to this policy

We will update this page when the website’s or game’s data handling changes, including before introducing online accounts, cloud saves, advertising or analytics. The date above shows when this version was prepared. A website privacy choice does not give permission for new game features or future optional tracking services.
